In Kumbotso LGA, Kano State, a magistrate’s court has heard a case against a travel agent accused of fraud. Usman Sanusi Bachirawa allegedly defrauded two clients, Bashir Hassan and Hussaini Hassan, of N1 million with promises to arrange their visas.
Bachirawa now faces eight charges, including criminal breach of trust and fraud. The prosecution claims he provided the victims with counterfeit travel visas for Saudi Arabia after taking their money.
His attorney, Barrister A. I. Alhassan, requested bail for the accused, which was granted by Magistrate Hajiya Rakiya Lami Sani at N800,000, requiring two sureties at the same amount. The case has been postponed to September 21.
