Nigerian billionaire, Femi Otedola, expressed his congratulations to the newly appointed Pope, Leo XIV.
He shared a photo on Instagram showing the Pope at the Augustinian community in Abuja from 2016.
“In my role as Chancellor, on behalf of Augustine University Ilara, Epe, Lagos State, I wish to proudly congratulate our new Pope, Leo XIV @Pontifex, who is a devoted Augustinian Priest, reflecting the essence of our institution,” Otedola wrote.
He acknowledged the Pope’s visit to Nigeria, particularly his time spent with the Augustinian community in Abuja.
“We take pride in the fact that His Holiness visited the Augustinian community in 2016 and initiated important projects,” he continued.
“We pray for divine guidance as he assumes the significant duty of leading 1.5 billion Catholics worldwide.”
