A 25-year-old motorcycle thief, Hassan Abdul, was captured by the Kogi State Vigilante Group (VGN) while he was attempting to steal a motorcycle in Lokoja’s GSM Village. He had been on the run for several months.

While being presented to the media, Commander Hassan Yusuf shared details about Abdul’s criminal activities, indicating that he is part of a motorcycle theft ring based in Ayingba.

Abdul admitted to his crimes during his interview with reporters, stating: “I am Hassan Abdul, 25 years old, from Ayingba. I possess a master key that allows me to unlock any motorcycle.”

He further revealed that his main areas of operation included Computer Village, Zenith Bank, First Bank, and the Old Market in Lokoja. He disclosed that he sold the stolen motorcycles to a local named Kabiru, who lives near Our Ladies in Ayingba.

“My partner in crime was a guy named Ogbe, who has since been arrested. Together, we have stolen numerous motorcycles around Lokoja. Sadly for him, he is currently incarcerated in Koton Karfe Correctional Centre.”
