Transformative Naming: Mushin Local Government Renames Aguiyi Ironsi Spare Parts Market to Paramo Market, Sparking Divergent Opinions

Mixed Reactions As Mushin Local Government Changes Aguiyi Ironsi Spare (via Primetweets)
The recent announcement has sparked a variety of responses; while some people showed support, others questioned the implications of the new name for the community.

The Mushin local government has decided to change the name of the Aguiyi Ironsi spare parts market located in Ladipo to the Paramo International Spare Parts Market.

In a video shared on his X account, Emmanuel Bamigboye, the chairman of the local government, explained that this name change is a tribute to the market’s founder, Paramo Hassan Olajoku.

During the video, the chairman mentioned that the market was initially named Paramo before it was unexpectedly renamed Aguiyi Ironsi.

“He (Paramo) passed away during the political activities. We are taking this chance to honor him by restoring the original name. That’s the current situation. The name has reverted to Paramo International Spare Parts Market. This decision came from the executive council and the executive arm of Mushin local government and stands as our current resolution,” he stated.

Reactions to his announcement have been mixed; some people praised the decision, while others are concerned about how the name change will affect the local community.
