Brittany Williams, the former partner of Josh Allen, is facing scrutiny after her reactions on Instagram went viral in light of the news that the Buffalo Bills quarterback has become engaged to Hailee Steinfeld.
The controversy began when a user commented on one of Williams’ posts, questioning whether she had “found her next pro athlete yet.”
In response to the engagement announcement involving Allen, 28, and Steinfeld, 27, a comment from Williams’ profile sharply replied to the user.
“Fortunately, my boyfriend owns a team and doesn’t play for one. Don’t have to be with another brain-dead CTE athlete,” her account stated.
This response quickly gained traction online, leading to Williams addressing the situation through her Instagram Stories.
“My accounts have been hacked multiple times tonight. Working to get it sorted. If anyone has advice, please DM me,” she shared, while the original comment and her response have since been removed.
The Background of Allen and Williams
Josh Allen and Brittany Williams were friends from childhood and maintained a relationship for nearly ten years.
They parted ways in early 2023, and by May 2023, Allen was associated with Steinfeld. They were first publicly seen together at a Buffalo Sabres game in October 2023.
The couple made their relationship Instagram official in July, showcasing a moment together at the Eiffel Tower.
Steinfeld shared insights about their relationship in her October newsletter, Beau Society, reminiscing about a holiday incident where they both gifted each other the same kitchen knife.
She noted, “After we swapped our knives, he mentioned an old wives’ tale stating that if you give a knife as a gift to your partner, you must pay for it to avoid a relationship ending, so we exchanged quarters to break the supposed curse.”
