Esther Adaidu, the sister of 24-year-old Salome Eleojo Adaidu, who was tragically killed by gospel singer Timileyin Ajayi, has stated that she was unaware of any connection between her sister and the accused.
Ajayi alleges that he was in a year-long relationship with Salome and claims her murder was due to infidelity. However, Esther refuted these claims during an interview with Channels TV, expressing that she had never encountered Ajayi before the incident.
“This individual, Timi, is not known to us. We had never come across him until we were informed about the brutal murder of my sister. I demand justice for my sister since he directly confessed to his actions,” she expressed.
Salome’s uncle, Samson Adaji Adaidu, echoed the family’s sentiments.
“Our understanding comes from the Nigerian Police, and we are looking for justice through the legal system,” he mentioned.
Samson shared the horrifying details of the murder:
“He didn’t just end her life; he horrifically butchered her remains. He dismembered her into more than 50 parts. It’s evident he was preparing her body for something vile, as he disposed of it in several polythene bags.”
The Police Public Relations Officer for the Nasarawa State Command, SP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed that efforts are being made to ensure justice is served.
“The investigation is underway, and once it concludes, he will face charges in court. I assure the family and the public that this suspect will be held accountable if found guilty. We encourage anyone with additional complaints against him to come forward,” he stated.
Amid discussions regarding Timileyin’s role as a gospel singer, Nansel clarified that the suspect is primarily involved in cryptocurrency trading.
The suspect remains in custody at the Nasarawa State Police Command’s Criminal Investigation Department while the investigation continues.
