Angelina Jolie has concluded her legal dispute with the FBI by officially retracting her lawsuit related to an investigation concerning an alleged incident involving her former spouse, Brad Pitt.
On September 25, Jolie submitted a request to dismiss the case “with prejudice,” as noted in court records, which means the lawsuit cannot be reopened in the future.
Both Jolie and Pitt are responsible for covering their own legal expenses, marking the end of the case.
The legal issue originated in 2016, when the FBI investigated allegations of a physical incident involving Pitt, Jolie, and their children aboard a private jet.
This inquiry was triggered by an anonymous tip that raised alarms over potential domestic violence.
The FBI concluded the investigation in November 2016, deciding not to press any charges against Pitt. Shortly thereafter, Jolie filed for divorce from him.

In April 2022, Jolie initiated legal proceedings against the FBI using a “Jane Doe” alias to request information under the Freedom of Information Act.
She aimed to obtain insights into the agency’s investigation, asserting that it involved her and their minor children as both victims and witnesses.
Many speculated that the lawsuit was a strategic move in her ongoing custody battle with Pitt, regarding their six children, which is still unresolved.
At the time, sources indicated that the lawsuit might have been part of Jolie‘s effort to gain leverage in the contentious custody fight.
With this recent decision to withdraw the case, the implications for their continuing legal disputes concerning the children remain uncertain.
A source claimed, “Angelina is likely looking for a morsel of information, something else to use against Brad, to hurt him.” They further commented, “This appears to be a desperate search trying to find something potentially non-existent in FBI notes and publicize it.”
