In a recent family photo shared by Bronny James on X (formerly Twitter), LeBron James’ youngest son, Bryce Maximus James, is attracting attention for his impressive height growth. The image, posted on October 24, 2024, features LeBron with his wife Savannah and their children, showcasing Bryce nearly matching his father’s height. Although partially hidden, fans were quick to notice Bryce’s growth spurt.
As of June 2024, Bryce is 17 years old, standing at 6 feet 6 inches and weighing around 180 pounds (or 81 kilos). His brother Bronny is 6 feet 2 inches tall, while their father LeBron is 6 feet 9 inches. This means that Bryce is two inches taller than Bronny and just three inches shorter than LeBron.

“Wow, Bryce is getting so tall!” commented one user on X, while another joked, “The little big brother is still growing.” Bryce’s height had also made headlines back in May when he stood with LeBron and Savannah before a game featuring Team Strive For Greatness against Team Melo at the Pacers Athletic Center. Like his brother Bronny, Bryce has shown a strong inclination towards basketball, following in their father’s footsteps.
Bryce James is a promising player in his own right
Just like his older brother Bronny, who was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in June 2024, Bryce James is making strides in the basketball scene. He currently attends Sierra Canyon High School in Los Angeles and has already garnered scholarship offers from several schools, including Ohio State, Duquesne University, and USC. Bryce is part of an AAU team named Team Strive for Greatness, which his father sponsors. After playing against Kiyan Anthony, son of former NBA star Carmelo Anthony, during the 2024 Nike EYBL tour, Kiyan praised Bryce for his remarkable skills.
Kiyan remarked, “He’s an excellent shooter. When he gets hot, he doesn’t miss.” He added, “He’s got some bounce; I’d say he’s even more bouncy than I am. He may not look like his dad, but he does have that dunking style.” During a 2022 interview with Sports Illustrated, both Bronny and Bryce expressed their aspirations to play in the NBA, with Bronny stating, “It feels like my path is already mapped out.” Bryce echoed this enthusiasm, sharing, “I tried basketball, and it turned out I really liked it.”
LeBron James hopes to see Bronny and Bryce play on the same team someday
LeBron James, a four-time NBA Champion, has expressed a desire to continue his basketball career until he can play alongside both of his sons, Bryce and Bronny. In a joint interview with Sports Illustrated, he was questioned about his intention to wait for Bryce before retiring. LeBron stated, “I believe I can play for quite some time. My ability depends on how I feel physically and mentally.” He shared his hope to eventually witness his sons play together, admitting, “The best moment would be seeing my two boys on the same team.”
However, Bryce has mentioned on Instagram Live that he doubts they could share the court, pointing out that LeBron would be 42 by the time he could get drafted. After Bronny’s first pre-season game with the Los Angeles Lakers in October 2024, which marked their first professional game together, LeBron reflected on this proud milestone, expressing, “It means everything.” He shared highlights from the game on Instagram, captioning it, “WITH ALL MY HEART AND SOUL!!! I WILL NEVER FORGET THAT MOMENT FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.”
