Francia Raísa recently raised concerns that she is still feuding with Selena Gomez after the former avoided answering questions about their friendship. When a TMZ paparazzo asked Raísa why she still doesn’t follow Gomez back on social media, she simply told him, “Sunday is so fun … I’m Francia, I’m hanging out with my dog.” Raísa continued to deflect the questions about whether they stay in contact, as she raved about how good of a day it was. She did acknowledge that she was dodging any questions regarding Gomez, saying that she is “really good at this game” simply because she is from San Fernando Valley, known as “the Valley.”
Raísa donated her kidney to Gomez in 2017 amid the singer’s battle with lupus. In one final attempt to get an answer from Raísa, the pap asked if she would donate her kidney to Gomez “again,” which prompted her to say, “I would definitely speak to someone again about organ donation and the process.” Noting that she has gone through the organ donation process “a few times,” Raísa said that it was “worth it.”
Speculation of a feud began in 2022 after Gomez said that Taylor Swift was her “only friend” in the industry. “Interesting,” Raísa responded to the interview in a since-deleted comment under an Instagram post. Following the interview, fans noticed that Raísa no longer followed Gomez on social media, though the singer did follow her.
However, the “Lose You to Love Me” songstress called Raísa her “best friend” in March 2023, suggesting the two might have worked things out. Gomez recalled during an interview for Apple TV+’s “Dear…” that Raísa said “No I am absolutely getting tested” within three days of being asked to donate her kidney. Gomez said, “I will never, ever, ever be more in debt to a person than Francia. The idea of someone not even second-guessing to be a donor was unbelievably overwhelming.”
