Kelly Ripa and her husband Mark Consuelos’ three children have blocked them on social media. The couple revealed this in an interview with E! News, noting that it was a form of self-preservation for their kids. Michael, 25, Joaquin, 20, and Lola, 21, are not interested in their parents’ content, and didn’t even realize that Mark would be joining Kelly on her daytime talk show. The former soap star and the Riverdale actor have long been candid about their personal lives on social media, but the kids have gone through periods of time where they don’t want to be a subject.
Mark will be the fourth co-host Kelly has worked alongside since she joined Regis Philbin on the show in 2001. After Regis left in 2011, Michael Strahan joined Kelly from 2012-2016 before departing for Good Morning America. Ryan Seacrest then took over in 2017, but he recently left due to the grueling schedule. His absences created tension with everyone involved on the show, and he found the schedule punishing. He also hated living in New York City, where the show is taped daily. Mark’s first show as the official co-host airs Monday.
