BUZZ: Michael Bublé Criticizes Tony Danza for 'Rude' Red Carpet Interview

Michael Bublé has taken a stand against Tony Danza’s “condescending” responses to a red carpet reporter. The “Sway” singer jumped on the backlash bandwagon after a TikTok video of the “Who’s the Boss?” alum brushing off an interviewer at the “New York, New York” Broadway premiere went viral.

In the clip, host Rye Myers asked Danza what his favorite New York City staple food was, but the visibly annoyed actor responded, “You know what you’ve got to do, buddy, you’ve got to come up with better questions” and then walked off. In response, Bublé offered some comfort to Myers, writing in the comments section of his post, “I think you’re amazing Ry. I’ll have a pizza with ya. Let’s not invite Tony …”

Myers wrote back to the “Feeling Good” singer, “Omg Michael, thank you for the kind comment. Means so much! I’d LOVE to have pizza with you! It would be fun!”

Danza has not addressed the incident and his reps did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment on the reaction the viral video has gotten or Bublé’s remarks.

Myers appears to have taken the uncomfortable encounter in stride, writing in the caption of his post, “I understand not everyone is in the mood to answer questions, and you can always pass. I asked these same questions (and a few others!) to heavy hitters like Joel Gray and Lin-Manuel Miranda and others, and only Tony Danza replied like this….” He then concluded, “To say I was blown away, shocked, and embarrassed is an understatement…But, my professionalism showed through!”

In a statement to Page Six on Friday, Myers shared that the encounter was upsetting because he “grew up watching and respecting” Danza. He added that he looks forward to covering many more red carpets and sharing his light as “Your Broadway & Entertainment Bff!” with the many celebrities who love talking to him and sharing their light with him and his audience. He concluded by saying he hopes Danza will remember to be a little kinder next time.
