Nick Cannon has fathered a dozen children, and joked that his “super sperm” makes birth control ineffective. On Howie Mandel’s “Does Stuff” podcast Tuesday, Cannon said that despite practicing birth control, people still got pregnant. He added that he was “good with his dozen” and was trying to be as responsible as possible.
Cannon’s first child was born in 2011, when his ex-wife Mariah Carey welcomed twins Moroccan and Monroe. He has since welcomed 10 more children with five more women. Most recently, he welcomed daughter Halo with Alyssa Scott and son Legendary with Bre Tiesi.
Unfortunately, Cannon and Scott’s son Zen passed away from brain cancer in December 2021 at only five months old. Cannon has been criticized heavily online for welcoming so many kids with so many different women.
When asked if he could list all of his children during an interview with Howard Stern, Cannon forgot to name one of them – Onyx – prompting Stern to quip “poor Onyx”. Cannon replied that it would “create a problem” as he is “in trouble” with the mothers of his children every day.
Onyx’s mother, LaNisha Cole, subtly shaded her baby daddy on social media, sharing a series of photos of their daughter and writing that she would do everything she can to make sure Onyx knows how special she is and how much she loves her.
