Jane Schneck, the mother of singer Nick Carter and late singer Aaron Carter, was arrested on Friday night following an altercation with her husband. Schneck was charged with one count of battery and posted a $100 bond. She was released from custody at Hernando County Detention Center Saturday morning.
TMZ was the first to report the news. According to the outlet, Schneck and her husband had been drinking and got into a verbal argument over the volume of their television. The disagreement soon turned physical when Schneck allegedly grabbed her husband’s wrist. Her husband then called the police and Schneck was arrested after video footage of the exchange was obtained from her husband’s phone.
Meanwhile, Schneck’s son Nick is facing legal woes of his own. The Backstreet Boys member was slapped with a sexual assault and battery lawsuit filed by former Dream singer Melissa Schuman. Schuman accused Nick of performing oral sex on her against her will in 2003 and forcing her to reciprocate. Nick has denied the allegations and filed a countersuit against Schuman and Shannon Ruth, who sued him for allegedly raping her on a tour bus in 2001 when she was 17.
