New “Real Housewives of New York City” star Jessel Taank got a do-over after vomiting all night at Bravo’s ritzy premiere party at the Rainbow Room last week.
The “RHONY” newbie hosted her own party — two days after the first episode aired — and it was almost as swanky as the network’s official bash. We’re told Taank and her team planned the reboot bash at Priyanka Chopra’s Indian restaurant Sona and The Glenlivet single malt whiskey provided the bespoke cocktails.
The party, dubbed as a celebration of the premiere and Taank being the first “Real Housewife” of South Asian descent to appear on the franchise.
“Everyone asked me, ‘Why ‘Real Housewives’?” There’s flipping tables and cursing and pulling women’s hair, and it’s inherently not who I am,” she said during a speech.
“I took this opportunity because I wanted to represent a culture that is largely underrepresented,” she added.
Taank’s husband Pavit Randhawa, and her castmates Ubah Hassan, creator of Ubah Hot hot sauce, and “Scout the City” digital creator Sai De Silva were a few of the guests who came out to support her on Tuesday night.
Taank was in a much healthier mood than at Bravo’s party, where she was forced to leave early due to a “stomach bug” that left her puking multiple times throughout the evening. This time, she served drinks from the bar and danced the night away with Hassan, we hear.
“Being Indian has its perks, but the biggest perks is when you shine, everyone shines,” she told the crowd.
Cast mates Jenna Lyons, Erin Dana Lichy, and Brynn Whitfield were noticeably absent.
