turned upside down earlier this month after Randall died following a three-year battle with ALS at age 57.
Bullock, 59, has “seen the incredible outpouring of support toward ALS research since Bryan’s passing,” a source told People.
“It was very important to her that when she and his family made the initial statement of Bryan’s passing, those who were on this journey with her and Bryan, from the beginning, were recognized — with the Healey Center at Mass General leading the way.”
“She is so grateful to all those who have donated and is happy that out of something so heartbreaking came something so positive for others,” the insider added.
Randall’s death was confirmed by his family, who said in a statement, “It is with great sadness that we share that on Aug. 5, Bryan Randall passed away peacefully after a three-year battle with ALS.
“Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private and those of us who cared for him did our best to honor his request.”
“We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours,” they added.
Bullock first met Randall in 2015 when he was hired to photograph her adopted son Louis‘ birthday.
The couple’s romance developed quickly and they began dating just months later, attending her friend Jennifer Aniston’s wedding to Justin Theroux together that August.
Along with Louis, Bullock also adopted her daughter, Laila, in December 2015.
For his part, Randall was a dad to his adult daughter Skylar from a previous relationship.
Bullock has had a tough month so far, as the fallout from the bombshell Michael Oher lawsuit has left her “heartbroken and upset” over the revelations.
Oher, the 37-year-old offensive tackle who inspired “The Blind Side,” claimed in court documents that his parents, Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy, never actually adopted him.
“There was so much hard work put into the film that they all though was the truth and now that has been questioned, it just upsets Sandra to no end that a time in her life was so special, is now shadowed with a completely different perspective,” a source told the Daily Mail of Bullock, who played Leigh Anne Tuohy in the hit 2009 film.

The insider added that the actress “hates that such a wonderful story, a spectacular movie, and a spectacular time in her life now has been tainted.”
Bullock is reportedly “putting up a strong face and a strong front” as the fallout continues to plague what she thought was the truth.
For their part, the Tuohy family has called Oher’s filing “hurtful” and “a shameful shakedown attempt” — claiming that Oher was well aware he had not been adopted.
