Braxton Berrios is setting the record straight amid speculation that he cheated on ex Sophia Culpo with his current girlfriend, Alix Earle.
After Culpo shaded the pair’s budding romance on TikTok Monday, the NFL player decided to share his side of the story on his Instagram Story.
“I don’t want to start anything. I don’t want to fuel anything,” he started in the video. “I genuinely want all of this to be over and everybody to move on and do whatever makes them happy.”
The 27-year-old continued, “I was in a relationship for two years. It was a good relationship, it was a healthy one. And towards the end of it, we had conversations along the lines of we just weren’t working out. So when we split back in January, that’s why.”
He went on to say the pair’s split “had nothing to do with anybody else” and that sometimes things “just didn’t work out and that’s OK.”
“It’s been very weird and sad to see kind of what’s gone on since then,” he continued. “I’ve been quiet because it’s totally out of character for me to talk about my private life, publicly. But I feel like it needed to be touched on now.”
Although Berrios implied that his split from Culpo was amicable, the 26-year-old influencer previously claimed their relationship “didn’t end well or honestly.”

“A lot of trust was broken,” she wrote on her Instagram Story in April, one month after announcing her split from the NFL hunk.
She also claimed that she “found out” about Berrios’ relationship with Earle from an article online — while she and the Miami Dolphins player were still together.
Meanwhile, Berrios and Earle have been living it up, jet-setting from Miami to The Hamptons and then back again in recent weeks.
Earle, 22 — who rose to fame on TikTok and has more than 5 million followers — seemingly confirmed she was dating the athlete over the weekend after posting a clip of herself hugging and kissing a shirtless man on her bed.
While neither of their faces was shown, eagle-eyed fans quickly identified the guy as Berrios given the fact that he was photographed with Earle all weekend while at the Palm Tree Music Festival.
Prior to her romance with Berrios, Earle dated former New York Yankees player Tyler Wade.
