David Schwimmer, known for his role in Friends, has criticized Elon Musk for allowing Kanye West to promote harmful ideologies online.
Kanye is notoriously in the spotlight for his contentious remarks, but his recent anti-Semitic comments on X have intensified the backlash against him.
Kanye made headlines for a series of inflammatory posts, one where he boldly declared: “I AM A NAZI.”
In another post, he provocatively stated: “I LOVE HITLER NOW WHAT B*****S.”
This outburst led to broad condemnation, with fans and celebrities expressing shock at his escalation of hate-filled rhetoric after a previous attempt to improve his public image.
Additionally, West accused Musk of appropriating Nazi symbols during a recent rally for former President Donald Trump.
“Elon stole my Nazi swag at the inauguration yoooo my guy get your own third rale,” he commented, leading to further scrutiny and disbelief over his bizarre claims.
Kanye’s latest outburst is particularly surprising given that he had only recently apologized for prior anti-Semitic comments.
Schwimmer Responds to Kanye’s Remarks
As a member of the Jewish community, Schwimmer voiced his concerns on Instagram, addressing how Kanye’s hateful rhetoric is amplified on a large platform.
He stated, “We can’t stop a deranged bigot from spewing hate filled, ignorant bile… but we CAN stop giving him a megaphone, Mr. Musk,” urging Musk to take action.
“Kanye West has 32.7 million followers on your platform, X. That’s twice as many people than the number of Jews in existence. His sick hate speech results in REAL LIFE violence against Jews,” he emphasized.
Schwimmer further lamented, “I find it hard to fathom whether it’s worse that he identifies as a Nazi or that there is not enough OUTRAGE to justify removing him from social media.”
He concluded by stating, “Silence is complicity.”
