Jennifer Lopez’s friends are expressing worry regarding her potential plans to start dating again after her breakup with Ben Affleck.
The singer initiated divorce proceedings from Affleck on August 20, marking the end of their two-year marriage.
Even after their split, Lopez and Affleck have been spotted together in public, including a recent family outing at a school event in Los Angeles.
A source revealed to Closer Magazine that Lopez may be considering younger partners but is not ready for a serious relationship at the moment.
This insider mentioned she might look for someone like Joe Jonas or Zac Efron just for fun appearances.
However, her friends are reportedly anxious, cautioning her against casual dating and urging her to focus on finding genuine love and stability when she is prepared.
The insider also suggested that Lopez could contemplate dating comedian Pete Davidson, raising alarms among her close friends.
“Her team is concerned about someone like Pete Davidson, considering his past with rehabilitation, and they fear Jen might feel the need to ‘save him,’” explained the insider.
Lopez’s History with Younger Partners
The possibility of Lopez dating younger men is not unprecedented. She previously had a relationship with dancer Beau “Casper” Smart, who was 18 years her junior.
The couple was involved in an on-and-off romance from 2011 until 2016, which ended due to Smart’s infidelity.
A 2016 report from PEOPLE claimed that she ended the relationship after Smart cheated again despite his vow to remain faithful.
Prior to being with Smart, Lopez was married to Latin artist Marc Anthony, with whom she shares twins, Max and Emme, who are now 16 years old.
Their divorce was finalized in 2014, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their separation.
As Lopez works through her divorce from Affleck, her friends remain concerned, advising her to take some time before entering a new relationship.
