On October 16, the unexpected passing of British musician Liam Payne shocked many, particularly his fans. At just 31, he tragically died after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires. A notable member of the famous band One Direction, Payne was known worldwide.
Now, over two months later, the investigation by Argentine authorities continues with numerous unanswered questions. Recently, local media reported that five individuals have been charged in connection with the singer’s death. The Criminal and Correctional Court 34 has ordered pre-trial detention for two of these individuals, who must attend court within 24 hours as per Infobae.
The individuals facing charges include Braian Paiz, a former waiter, and a hotel employee, both implicated in a drug trafficking offense. A businessman, Roger Nores, has also been charged with manslaughter, prohibiting him from leaving the country while imposing a fine of 50 million pesos.
Liam Payne reportedly received multiple drug supplies
The remaining two accused are associated with the hotel: Gilda Martin, the hotel manager, and Esteban Grassi, the business manager. According to the prosecutor’s findings, “in the last 72 hours of his life, Payne’s system displayed traces of a mix of alcohol, cocaine, and a prescribed antidepressant.”
Furthermore, it has been confirmed that Liam Payne was given “at least” four doses of various drugs. The autopsy indicated that his death resulted from “multiple injuries” and “internal as well as external bleeding” due to the fall. It is noted that he “might have fallen while in a state of partial or complete unconsciousness.”
