Marcy Blum, a prominent event planner for celebrities, recently opened up about the canceled wedding of Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez. Speaking on The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast, Blum disclosed that Lopez was interested in having Bruno Mars perform at their wedding but was caught off guard by his exorbitant fee.
“We were consulting with J.Lo and A-Rod before their breakup, and at one point, she asked, ‘What about Bruno Mars?’” Blum recounted. The popular artist demands a staggering $5 million for a 45-minute to one-hour wedding performance. Upon hearing the price, Lopez reportedly reacted with disbelief, exclaiming, “‘Don’t be ridiculous!’”
Blum noted that she had collaborated with Mars on another wedding where he charged the same fee, emphasizing that his price was non-negotiable. This incident shows that even high-profile celebrities can be shocked by such costs.
Lopez and Rodriguez started dating in 2017 and got engaged in 2019. They had envisioned a grand wedding in Italy set for 2020, which, like many plans during that time, was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Tragically, the delay led to their separation in 2021. Blum felt at ease discussing these matters as she had never signed a non-disclosure agreement during her time with the couple.

After parting ways with Rodriguez, Lopez rekindled her romance with actor Ben Affleck. The pair, popularly known as “Bennifer,” previously dated in the early 2000s before each moved on. Their reunion led to a spontaneous Las Vegas elopement in 2022, followed by an elaborate ceremony in Georgia. However, their relationship experienced turbulence, leading Lopez to file for divorce in August, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
The Maid in Manhattan star has been married four times and has twins, Max and Emme, aged 16, with her former husband, Marc Anthony. Meanwhile, Affleck shares three children, Violet, 19, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. Despite the ups and downs of their lives, Lopez and Affleck’s reunion had once again piqued public interest, although it seems that chapter may have closed as well.
