The famous Taylor Swift guitar, highlighted in a viral video, is now available for bidding on eBay. This guitar was acquired at a charity auction for $4,000 but was later destroyed in a video posted on social media and is currently being offered to the highest bidder.
The seller has returned the guitar to the original charity, the Ellis County Wild Game Dinner in Texas. The funds raised from the eBay auction will go towards promoting agricultural education for local youth, thus maintaining the charitable goal.
Is the guitar signed by Swift?
The eBay post claims the guitar bears Taylor Swift‘s signature. However, a source from TMZ linked to Swift’s merchandise distributor has challenged this assertion, indicating that the signature and the guitar are not official, and no certificate of authenticity was provided by Swift’s team.
The eBay listing features images that showcase what looks like Taylor’s signature along with designs from her Eras Tour. The original auction did come with a certificate that purportedly confirms the guitar was “personally signed by Swift and guaranteed to be authentic.”
Nevertheless, doubt is cast on this certificate as it lacks a seal, which is a standard requirement for authentic certificates.
Amid uncertainties regarding its authenticity and the drama of its destruction, the guitar is currently opened for bids starting at $100. Whether it transforms into a sought-after collectors’ item or simply remains as a piece of viral history, the guitar’s journey continues, eagerly anticipated by its potential new owner and the charity it aims to support.
