The bond between two of Hollywood’s biggest stars, Brad Pitt and George Clooney, appears to be deteriorating. Once the best of friends, their relationship is now strained, and sources suggest it might not return to what it once was.
“They’re not in conflict, but their connection has certainly lessened,” an insider disclosed. “George is busy with family life alongside Amal, while Brad is concentrating on rebuilding himself after his divorce. They simply don’t have the same opportunity to meet.”
This star duo, renowned for their fun moments and undeniable chemistry in films like Ocean’s Eleven, has rarely been seen together recently. Their latest collaboration, Wolfs, seems to have further highlighted their growing distance.
The anticipated “buddy movie” has been met with negative reviews, being described by critics as “lackluster” and “shockingly poor.” Some reviewers have gone as far as to label it a “failed vanity project.”
Erosion of Their Friendship
An insider noted, “George feels that every collaboration with Brad results in setbacks. Meanwhile, Brad is growing weary of being seen as George’s fallback.”
This isn’t their first struggle with their friendship; during Pitt’s marriage to Angelina Jolie, Clooney often kept his distance, mainly due to Jolie’s supposed animosity toward Amal Clooney.
“Angelina felt threatened by Amal and viewed her as a ‘wannabe’ philanthropist,” a source revealed. The tension became so severe that Pitt even skipped Clooney’s wedding in 2014, an action that deeply affected George.
Failed Attempts at Reconnection
Following Pitt’s divorce from Jolie, the two rekindled their friendship, with Clooney providing support during Brad’s turbulent time. However, the closeness seems to have diminished once more.
“They had a second chance at reconciling their friendship, but it’s fading again,” the insider commented. “In Hollywood, relationships are fickle—even the strongest friendships can fade.”
