Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ daughter, Suri, has chosen to no longer go by the Cruise surname.
This change signifies a significant shift for the 18-year-old as she decides to adopt the name Suri Noelle as a nod to her mother.
A source mentioned to Page Six that by incorporating her mother’s middle name, Suri is demonstrating her admiration for her mother and striving to establish her “own identity.”
The source also suggested that this modification will help her “avoid the paparazzi” and embark on a fresh journey in college.
Suri’s New Name in Action
Suri has already embraced her new name by utilizing it at her recent graduation ceremony from Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts.
Additionally, in December, she was credited as Suri Noelle in the playbill for her portrayal of Morticia Addams in the school production of “The Addams Family: A New Musical.”
While Suri has warmly embraced her new surname, it remains uncertain if she has legally changed her name.
Nonetheless, this decision emphasizes the existing distance between Suri and Tom. Reports from March 2023 by Page Six confirmed the continued estrangement between the famous actor and his daughter.
Katie and Tom finalized their divorce in 2012, leading to Katie raising Suri as a single parent.
“I feel incredibly fortunate to have such a remarkable daughter. It is an absolute honor and privilege to be her mother,” expressed Holmes when reflecting on her experience of raising her daughter.
