Brady Missed Jack’s Birth
Tom Brady’s first child, John ‘Jack’ Moynahan, significantly impacted his life, but Brady was absent during his birth. He shares Jack with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan, with whom he broke up shortly before she announced her pregnancy in 2007.
Although Brady was with Gisele Bündchen by then, he committed to co-parenting harmoniously with Bridget. Ultimately, she confirmed that he was not present in the delivery room. “[Tom] was not in the [delivery] room,” she revealed to More magazine (via People). He arrived after Jack’s birth, and despite efforts to be there, including a private jet offer from Patriots owner Robert Kraft, he missed the moment.
Over the years, Brady and Moynahan maintained a cooperative relationship for Jack’s benefit, even as both moved on with their lives. Bündchen has expressed gratitude towards Bridget for fostering a supportive dynamic. In a 2023 interview with Vanity Fair, she acknowledged the importance of teamwork in parenting Jack: “We are team players in ‘How are we going to do this so [Jack] can have the best life?'”
Jack Shows Off Brady’s Talents
Jack has inherited his father Tom Brady’s athletic prowess, developing a keen interest in both football and other sports like soccer and swimming. Recently, he has taken on the role of quarterback for his high school football team, a fact that fills Brady with pride.
During an episode of his SiriusXM podcast “Let’s Go with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald, and Jim Gray,” in October 2022, Brady expressed his enthusiasm in advising Jack on becoming a quarterback. He stated, “I love watching him play quarterback because I think there’s very few things in life that I could probably help him with,” acknowledging his limited expertise outside of throwing a football.
Since 2021, Jack has also gained experience on the sidelines as a ball boy for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a role that Brady announced with pride on social media. His father commented on Jack’s serious approach to his summer job, saying, “… just like his dad!”
