Followers are urging Taylor Swift to postpone her Eras Tour shows at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium as Hurricane Milton, a Category 5 storm, wreaks havoc across Florida shortly before her scheduled performance.
The hurricane, boasting sustained winds close to 155mph, along with potential flash flooding and storm surges, is anticipated to leave widespread destruction in its wake as it moves throughout the state.
Many individuals have been evacuated to safety, but unfortunately, numerous homes and communities are likely to suffer catastrophic damage, assuming they manage to escape the hurricane unharmed.
In light of the ongoing chaos—only weeks after Hurricane Helene struck the area—fans have expressed their desire for the 34-year-old superstar to either cancel or postpone her shows until Florida can recover and feel safe again.
One fan posted on X.com (formerly Twitter), urging, “Taylor Swift, I implore you to please think about the Floridians facing immense loss due to a Category 4 hurricane and consider canceling or postponing the concert! It’s the wisest choice right now!”
Another added bluntly, “Just cancel the Eras Tour, Taylor!”
A third fan questioned, “What’s taking Swift so long? Just cancel the Eras.”
The Severity of Hurricane Milton
Hurricane Milton surfaces less than a month after Hurricane Helene inflicted devastation as the deadliest storm to hit the continental United States since Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and the deadliest Atlantic storm since Hurricane Maria in 2017.
Helene took the lives of 232 people, with an additional 285 missing, causing an estimated $38.5 billion in damages across the Southern United States. Hurricane Milton is predicted to be even more destructive, having already claimed at least eight lives.
