In an interview with VietNamNet, Dieu Anh expressed her astonishment at her results, stating, “I felt confident about my efforts but only anticipated a score around 1500 or higher—never thought I would get a perfect score. I’m still overwhelmed.”

Beyond her SAT excellence, Dieu Anh excels in various areas. She has been the class leader for 12 consecutive years and has secured top prizes in local English competitions throughout her school years. Additionally, she achieved an impressive IELTS score of 8.0, with the same score in Writing.

Dieu Anh attributes her achievements to a disciplined study routine. “I create a daily to-do list with deadlines to manage my tasks effectively,” she said. She emphasizes mastering foundational skills before progressing to more complex tasks and aims to complete assignments during class, allowing her home time for further exploration of subjects.
Passion for English
With an English teacher as her mother, Dieu Anh found it easy to develop a strong foundation in the language from her early years. “My enthusiasm for English grew as I learned more about the subject,” she noted, integrating language skills into her daily life naturally rather than through rigid practice schedules.
Learning from Practice
In preparation for exams, she ensures to complete as many practice tests as possible. “I learn through trial and error, keeping a notebook of mistakes to identify areas needing improvement,” she shared. Her perseverance and determination, she believes, are crucial not only for her studies but in life overall.
Resilience After Challenges
Dieu Anh achieved her perfect SAT score on her second attempt; her first attempt yielded a score of 1390, which fell short of her expectations. Reflecting on that experience, she acknowledged that her preparation had not been sufficient and committed herself to work harder for the next attempt, leading to her remarkable success.
Involvement Outside Academics
In addition to her personal academic pursuits, she serves as vice chair of the BoNE Club, a group focused on charity and promoting reading culture at Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted.

Nguyen Thi Thuong Huyen, her homeroom and English teacher, remarked that Dieu Anh’s perfect SAT score is a deserved recognition of her hard work and determination. “She has set clear goals and creates meticulous plans to achieve them, from IELTS to SAT,” Huyen emphasized.
A Well-Rounded Student and Individual
Dieu Anh excels in all subjects, not just English, and her dedication makes her a role model among her peers. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and playing volleyball with friends.
Future Aspirations
Initially, she planned to pursue English Education or Foreign Languages at prominent universities. However, with her outstanding SAT score, she is now considering studying abroad if she secures a significant scholarship. For now, she remains focused on finishing high school successfully.
A Strong Academic Community
At Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted, where Anh studies, many peers are also high achievers. Currently, 15 students have scored over 1500 on the SAT, and a significant number have attained IELTS scores of 8.0 or higher, showcasing a competitive and supportive academic environment.
