During the 2/9 holiday, Ho Chi Minh City welcomed a significant influx of tourists, resulting in nearly 3,000 billion VND ($125 million) in revenue, as reported by the city’s Department of Tourism.
Travelers, opting for trips lasting between three to five days, flocked to popular destinations such as Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Nha Trang, Da Nang, the northern provinces, and the Central Highlands. The tourism department collaborated closely with accommodation providers and tour operators within the city to enhance service quality, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
Hotels in the city experienced a notable surge in bookings, hosting an estimated 214,630 guests during the holiday period, marking a 32.5% increase compared to the same time in 2023. Hotel occupancy rates averaged 85%, up from 80% the previous year. Many hotels offered attractive discounts of up to 60% off, along with additional perks like discounted spa services and complimentary shuttle services.
The holiday season witnessed the inauguration of the Sky Garden Commercial and Food Street in District 7, quickly becoming a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. This new street provided a diverse range of cultural, culinary, and shopping experiences, adding to the vibrant tourism scene of the city.
Key attractions like the Cu Chi Tunnels, Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism Park, Dam Sen Cultural Park, and the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens experienced a significant increase in visitors, contributing to the overall success of tourism in the city.
