Vu The Phiet has been chosen as the new Chairman of the Board of ACV, succeeding Lai Xuan Thanh, who retired on September 1.
Phiet, born in 1973 and with a master’s degree in Business Administration, has been actively involved in Vietnam’s aviation industry since 1995. He has held key positions such as Director of Noi Bai Airport (2012-2017), Deputy CEO of ACV (2017-2018), and has been the CEO of ACV since August 2018.
On the same day, Nguyen Hoang Anh, Chairman of the State Capital Investment Corporation, officially announced the retirement of Lai Xuan Thanh, effective September 1, 2024. Thanh was the former Chairman of ACV’s Board.
ACV, with 95.4% state ownership, operates a network of 22 airports in Vietnam, including 10 international airports, following a parent-subsidiary model.
In 2023, ACV’s airports handled 113.5 million passengers, marking a 15% increase from 2022. The number of international passengers reached 32.6 million, showing a significant 173% rise from the previous year.
Currently, ACV is actively involved in major national projects like the building of Passenger Terminal T3 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport and the expansion of Long Thanh International Airport.
