Welcoming Ceremony for Cambodian King in Vietnam
On November 28 at the Presidential Palace, Vietnamese President Luong Cuong held an official welcome for Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni and his esteemed delegation during their state visit.
At 2 p.m., the King’s motorcade arrived at the Presidential Palace.
Amid festive music, President Luong Cuong warmly received the King with a handshake. Children from Hanoi greeted the King by presenting flowers, expressing a warm welcome from Vietnam.
The President subsequently invited the King to the honor platform, where both countries’ national anthems were played, and they honored the Vietnamese flag with a salute.
Next, President Luong Cuong invited King Sihamoni to review the Honor Guard of the Vietnam People’s Army. Following this, the leaders mingled with members of both delegations. The ceremony concluded with a military parade by the Honor Guard.
After the ceremony, both leaders engaged in official discussions.
Previously, King Norodom Sihamoni and his delegation placed wreaths at the Monument of Heroes and Martyrs and paid tribute at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.
During his visit, the King will hold meetings with General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, as well as participate in several significant activities in Hanoi.
This visit marks the King’s fourth trip to Vietnam since his ascension to the throne on October 29, 2004, with previous visits occurring in 2006, 2012, and 2018.
Over 57 years, the relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia has been enhanced through high-level exchanges and broad cooperation in various fields. Both nations actively engage in regional and international forums, strengthening their partnership and mutual support.
During their discussions, King Sihamoni and Cambodian leaders have reiterated Vietnam’s importance as a trusted neighbor and key friend of the Cambodian people, while Vietnamese leaders emphasize their commitment to nurturing this enduring friendship and comprehensive cooperation.
