LOA Working Unknowingly. – My Story

This is not the first time that I felt something bigger than me was working for me but I definitely realized it when this event happened.

My daughter was born in February 2020. So just after her birth, we went into the COVID lockdown and it was very difficult and unsafe to go to hospitals with a newborn baby for checkups.

After a couple of months, my baby was diagnosed with jaundice by the midwife who came to do a home visit. And hence, I booked an appointment at the hospital to get blood checks for our infant. Being first time parents, we were so frightened and prayed everything was going to be okay. I didn’t want my baby to undergo any medical treatment when she seemed so healthy and well. She had been breastfeeding well and pooing and peeing well. I took extra care to feed her every hour at night.

The day came, and we went to the hospital full of caution and uncertainty but deep down I was determined that my baby was healthy and normal and she did not need any medical intervention for now. But doctors wanted to see the numbers in her blood report. However painful it was for us to watch those tiny feet get pierced and drain blood out in a pot, which seemed like a big bucket for us, it must have been more painful for our baby. Then they had to run two tests to get clear on whether or not to admit the baby to the hospital for treatment.

So the first test came back negative and the second one was invalid. They said the blood cells could not be recorded or something. So we had to rebook the appointment for that test to confirm if she needed the treatment for jaundice or not.
So, there was a little gap of a couple of weeks in between and we went to check her blood again, and voila! This time her blood work was fine! She didn’t need any treatment for jaundice now.

My LOA theory is this; if the report had been correct the first time, I am sure the jaundice reading would be high at that time and so my baby manifested the second error report. She had time to clear away the remaining jaundice in her body hence, no unnecessary medical treatment or risky hospital stay during the COVID lockdown.
