Primetweets Romance
A year ago I accepted a job offer from an ex-boss whom I loved and had been waiting for an opportunity to work with again. I knew that by accepting the job I would be working with a few other doctors besides him. One of the doctors was very difficult for me to work with and I questioned my decision to leave my previous job. I started having anxiety and did not sleep very well on the nights before I knew I had to work with him. I would go into work with a terrible mindset already.
One evening I was scrolling through Netflix and came across The Secret. It was late and I was home by myself. The kids were out with friends and my husband was out of town. I watched the movie with such awe and felt like this was what I had been searching for my whole life. I ordered the newest book by Rhonda Byrne and read it as soon as I received it. I thought to myself that I was going to test this gratitude thing out and see if it worked.
I started writing in a gratitude journal every morning and I would write how I was grateful for my job and for the doctor that I had difficulty with. At first, I did not believe in my heart what I was writing. It felt like a lie but I still wrote it down in the belief that it would work.
One day about 3 weeks later, I was working with him by myself. I was just listening to him talk to a patient and all of a sudden, I just saw the love and compassion in him and some of his comments and gestures made me smile. I could not believe it!! I had been really struggling with being around him, let alone working closely with him, and now it is a pleasure working with him! Gratitude really, really works!!
I want to say thank you so very much to Rhonda Byrne for producing The Secret movie. I know that it was not just a coincidence that I came across it while scrolling through Netflix. Also, I want to thank you so very much for the book, The Greatest Secret. Thank you so much to God for everything in my life while I am here on this earth. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
