Sa Dec Flower Village: A Century of Blossoms as Tet 2025 Approaches

With the 2025 Lunar New Year just around the corner, the vibrant flower village of Sa Dec in Dong Thap Province is buzzing with activity from traders, gardeners, and visitors gearing up for the celebrations.

Local gardeners report that by the end of the twelfth lunar month, around 80% of the flowers in Sa Dec, a prominent flower hub in Vietnam, have already been ordered by traders.

The flowers will be showcased for an additional five days, enticing visitors for photography before they are harvested and delivered to customers.

Sa Dec City boasts a rich history of over a century and is celebrated for its wide array of colorful and diverse flowers.

Approximately 600 households cultivate flowers across nearly 300 hectares, producing about 2 million floral pots each Tet season.

The flower selection includes beloved varieties such as marigolds, chrysanthemums, and roses, alongside newer species like petunias, orchids, and gerberas.

These stunning arrangements not only beautify local homes but also reach markets throughout southern Vietnam, positioning Sa Dec as a significant contributor to the Tet flower marketplace.

Beyond commercial sales, the flower gardens of Sa Dec attract many tourists as Tet approaches.

Several gardens maintain displays for visitors to enjoy the scenery and take photos amid the beautiful blooms.

A local gardener shared, “While most flowers are pre-sold, we ensure some remain for display to enrich the Tet experience for our guests. Preserving this tradition is important to us.”

With nearly all flowers already claimed, Sa Dec flower village highlights the increasing desire for fresh flowers during the Tet celebrations.

This success underscores the tireless efforts of local farmers, whose commitment throughout the year guarantees a vibrant celebration for families in the area.
