On May 16, an exhibition at the Vietnam Science and Technology Day 2024 in Hanoi showcased over 40 remarkable technological innovations, digital solutions, and services developed by local enterprises. This event highlighted the nation’s expanding capabilities in research, innovation, and digital advancement.
In honor of Vietnam Science and Technology Day, celebrated on May 18, the Exhibition of Scientific and Technological Achievements, Innovation, and Digital Transformation (S&T/Innovation/DT) presented a diverse range of technologies from six major categories: Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation, Scientific Innovations, Notable S&T Products, STEM Education, Emerging Technologies, and Media and Publishing in S&T.
Some of the most intriguing exhibits included:
Military engineering advancements, such as optical-electronic surveillance systems and fire control technologies from the Institute of Military Automation.
Robotics developed by the University of Fire Prevention and the Military Technical Academy.
AI Camera systems from Viettel.
The PicoDragon satellite model alongside Vietnam’s three national satellites: PicoDragon, NanoDragon, and MicroDragon.
Medical 3D printing solutions showcased by Vinmec Hospital and the University of Civil Engineering.
Virtual reality equipment, groundbreaking software like MISA eShop, and AI productivity tools created by NTQ Solution (CodeVisNxUniverse) and FPT (CodeVista).
Students and emerging tech companies contributed displays featuring innovative products such as 3D printers, automated timelapse devices, and customized STEM educational solutions.
Minister Nguyen Manh Hung remarked that the proposed Law on Science and Technology and Innovation aims to shift the focus towards empowering businesses, providing them with more autonomy and access to both private and public funding for research and development projects.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung urged the establishment of a robust national innovation ecosystem, emphasizing the importance of fruitful collaborations between public and private sectors, alongside policies that prioritize citizens and businesses in the innovation process.
As of late 2024, Vietnam boasts 73,788 digital technology companies, reflecting a 10.12% increase from 2023. Collectively, their revenues have reached an estimated USD 158 billion, a year-on-year rise of 10.2%.
