Troops of Operation Hadin Kai were able to successfully repel an attack by the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) on a military base in Borno state. The terrorists had invaded Kunnari, a village near Buratai town, at around 3am on Monday, March 27. The troops responded quickly and put the ISWAP fighters in disarray, killing 8 of them while the others fled. Two others were killed while attempting to repair their motorcycle after it broke down. A soldier was injured during the operation.
