The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the 2023 Mock-UTME, originally scheduled for Thursday, March 16, 2023, has been postponed to Thursday, March 30, 2023. This change in date is due to the alteration of the date for the Governorship and State Houses of Assembly Elections, which was initially set for Saturday, March 11, 2023, but is now taking place on March 18, 2023. JAMB has stated that those who registered early and indicated their willingness to take the Mock-UTME will be notified when to print their Mock-UTME notification slip, which will include their centres and other details.
The mock UTME is an optional exam offered by JAMB to give candidates a chance to gain experience with the system and to allow the board to assess its readiness and that of its partners for the main UTME, which is scheduled to occur between April 29 and May 12, 2023. JAMB has also announced that this year’s UTME will feature some groundbreaking innovations designed to address observed infractions and centre failures. These innovations include that if there is a delay of up to one hour before the commencement of a particular session, that session will be cancelled and rescheduled along with the candidates. Additionally, no examination can be started one hour after the scheduled commencement time; the session will be scheduled for any vacant or available slot.
According to official statistics provided by JAMB, a total of 168,748 registered for the 2023 mock UTME out of the over 1.5 million prospective candidates for this year’s UTME.
