Nigerian actors/actresses have really made alot from their career and 2016 was a hot year for them all. Everyone knows how extremely hard it is for filmmakers in Nollywood to make money off their works. One of the major reasons being piracy. But since Nigerians have fallen back in love with watching movies at the cinema, filmmakers are smiling to the bank.
According to figures released by FilmOne Distribution, movies like AY Makun‘s 30 Days in Atlanta, Ebonylife‘s Fifty, Omoni Oboli‘s Wives on Strike to Kunle Afolayan‘s The CEO, and now A Trip to Jamaica, The Wedding Party, 93 Days, 76 are among the films that brought in about N1 billion in ticket sales. This figure represents about 30 percent of the total N3.5 billion generated from just 28 cinemas across the country.
