Adams Oshiomhole, the Senator representing Edo North, shared his doubts about the electability of Asue Ighodalo, the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State. Oshiomhole expressed that Ighodalo lacked the necessary qualities and couldn’t even speak his own language, making him unfit to be chosen as the governor by the Edo people.
In an interview on Arise TV’s Morning Show, Oshiomhole highlighted that Ighodalo’s inability to communicate in his native tongue was a significant drawback. He also mentioned a peculiar incident where Ighodalo supposedly couldn’t sleep in his village due to witches and wizards, implying that such experiences raised concerns about his suitability for leadership.
Addressing the recent defection of Philip Shaibu, the Deputy Governor of Edo State, to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Oshiomhole stated that he had forgiven Shaibu and expressed hope that he had learned from his actions. Oshiomhole further revealed that the APC had embraced Shaibu back into their fold.
Reflecting on the reconciliation with Shaibu, Oshiomhole mentioned that forgiveness was essential and questioned whether Shaibu’s loyalty could be trusted in the future, emphasizing that only time would tell.
