Governor Aiyedatiwa Urges Ondo Residents to Vote for Him
Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the current Governor of Ondo State, has called upon citizens to support him in the upcoming election scheduled for next Saturday.
He emphasized that the people of Ondo should cast their votes in memory of the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
As a candidate for re-election representing the All Progressives Congress, Aiyedatiwa is confident that the late governor would have been pleased to see a vote for the APC.
During a campaign rally on Wednesday at MKO Abiola Democracy Park in Akure, he engaged with the audience, who responded enthusiastically in support of the APC.
Aiyedatiwa remarked, “The beloved former Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, would be delighted to witness your support for the APC in this election.”
He recalled that Akeredolu had once confided in him that he believed Aiyedatiwa would be his successor and would be proud to see that come to fruition this coming Saturday.
In a tribute to Akeredolu, the governor observed a moment of silence and affirmed that his administration would honor the legacy left by his predecessor.
Aiyedatiwa also highlighted the numerous development initiatives he has implemented across various sectors since taking office, promising to enhance these efforts if re-elected.
At the rally, the National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, expressed confidence that “by the grace of God on Saturday, November 16th, Governor Aiyedatiwa will secure victory in the gubernatorial election.”
He urged the people of Ondo to turn out in large numbers to vote for Aiyedatiwa, stating that “a vote for the Governor signifies unity, peace, and progress.”
The event also saw the attendance of notable figures including the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and the Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, Sen. Hope Uzodimma, among others.
Additional dignitaries in attendance included Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Ekiti State Governor Abiodun Oyebanji, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, and several others from the APC.
