Ngelale stated in a press release from the Presidency that he had informed Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President, about his decision to take an indefinite leave.
He also mentioned stepping down from his roles as the Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action and the Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen.
Citing medical issues within his close family circle as the reason behind his resignation, Ngelale emphasized the importance of addressing these pressing matters.
In his statement, Ngelale expressed, “I have informed the Chief of Staff to the President about my need to take an indefinite leave due to challenging medical concerns affecting my immediate family.
“Although I understand the continuous demands of public service, I have decided to temporarily step away from my duties as the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, Official Spokesperson of the President, Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action, and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen.
“I anticipate a return to serving the nation full-time when the right moment arises. I kindly request privacy for myself and my family during this period.”
