ECOWAS Heads Meeting Begins In Abuja (via Primetweets)

The 63rd Ordinary Summit of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) brings together leaders and representatives from 12 member states in Abuja.

The summit marks the conclusion of Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu’s term as the Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government on July 9, 2024.

This gathering at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja aims to select a new chair to lead the organization for the upcoming year.

There is a possibility of extending Tinubu’s tenure to allow him to pursue the inclusion of Niger, Mali, and Burkina Faso back into the ECOWAS.
