An emotional video has resurfaced showing the late singer and journalist, Onyeka Onwenu in tears as she urged Nigerian politicians to prioritize the welfare of the people. Onwenu, known as the “Elegant Stallion,” passed away on July 30 at the Reddington Hospital in Lagos after a performance at Stella Okoli’s 80th birthday.

A heartfelt interview she gave to RadioNow before her demise is gaining attention online. In the interview, she tearfully implored the Nigerian government to address the nation’s crisis.

She appealed, “If you are a leader, wherever you are, and you’re listening to this, I cry on behalf of all Nigerians who are badly affected by the situation in this country. Blessed people with talent, with so much to give the world, to show the world. Let our light shine. Do whatever you can, let’s make peace, let’s find a way. Let’s stop this before it’s too late.

“Help us. Help our children.”
