In Takum town, Taraba State, a suspected kidnapper was apprehended while participating in Assar prayer at the central Mosque as reported by a local resident, Dauda Mai Dawa.

The capture of a suspected kidnapper inside a mosque in Takum town of Taraba state during prayer has been reported.

A local resident, Dauda Mai Dawa witness the arrest of the suspect while he was engaged in Assar prayer at Takum central Mosque last Friday.

On the same day, 13 other suspects were also apprehended along the Takum-Maraban Baissa road.

Additionally, troops from the 6 Brigade/Sector 3 Operation WHIRL STROKE, in collaboration with various security agencies, captured the alleged mastermind behind the killing of the Chief of Chanchangi chiefdom and his son.

Furthermore, 15 other suspected kidnappers were arrested, and arms and ammunition were recovered during the operations conducted by the troops across different local government areas of Taraba state.

According to Captain Oni Olubodunde, the Assistant Director Army public relations office, on August 18, 2024, troops executed a raid on a criminal hideout in Takum LGA of Taraba State based on credible intelligence and apprehended a suspected kidnapper identified as David Musa.

Preliminary investigations unveiled his association with a notorious kidnap kingpin known as Ephraim, alias SKIN THE BODY.

In a separate operation on August 20, 2024, troops arrested suspected gunrunners, James Nuhu and Dan-Asabe Ango, in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba, who confessed during interrogation to being involved in various crimes within Wukari and its surroundings.

The suspects implicated Ibrahim Philemon as the armorer entrusted with safeguarding the weapons and proceeds of the criminal syndicate.
