“Choosing Loyalty: The Impact of a Second Marriage on Financial Support”

A Nigerian woman named Onyi Onoru Oyiza has expressed that if her husband chooses to marry another woman, she will cease all financial support for him.

In a Facebook update on January 26, the mother emphasized that the wealthiest individuals she knows are those with a single wife, while those struggling financially tend to pursue polygamous relationships, often citing divine provision as their justification.

Oyiza pointed out that if a man decides to take on a second wife, it implies he believes he can sustain his family adequately. She stated, “The wealthiest individuals I know typically have one wife. Conversely, those who can barely support one spouse are opting for polygamy, claiming that Allah will provide, which leads to the misguided belief of what women contribute.”

“Who told you to do that? As for me, if you decide to take a second wife, that will be the day I stop supporting you financially because you have demonstrated that you can manage the entire family. Good luck with that.”
