In a recent statement, a Nigerian man named Martin Chika expressed his preference for entrusting his salary to his mother rather than his wife. This comment was made in response to advice shared by a lawyer suggesting that husbands should let their wives manage their earnings.
The lawyer, Stella Justice, emphasized that having wives handle their husbands’ salaries could lead to a longer life for them. She explained that if wives are aware of the family’s financial obligations, they would be less inclined to spend recklessly, as they would understand the need to cover bills. She cautioned that otherwise, wives may continuously seek financial support, even if they know that the family’s needs have already been met.
