Constitute Independent Panel To Probe Former Officials, Contractors Under El-Rufai – Shehu Sani Tells Kaduna Governor

constitute independent panel to probe former officials contractors under el rufai shehu sani tells kaduna governor

A former Senator, Shehu Sani has urged the Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani to probe the administration of former governor, Nasir El-Rufai.

He said the governor should constitute an independent panel to probe former government officials and proxy contractors under former governor, Nasir El-Rufai.

Sani said that the former government officials and their proxy contractors must be made to account for the millions of dollars and billions of naira that were either misused or outrightly stolen including the $350million loan.

SaharaReporters had days ago reported that Governor Sani lamented the huge debt inherited from his predecessor, Nasir El-Rufai, on May 29, 2023.

The governor had said the state was now left with a few amounts, not enough to pay salary.

The governor had made this known while addressing a Town Hall Meeting at the late Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Hall, Kaduna.

Meanwhile, Shehu Sani, in a post on X platform on Monday said that the looting of the Kaduna State treasury could not be remedied only by revelations.

According to him, Kaduna State is at its hour of reckoning with the truth he foretold and the truth for which he was vilified.

He said, “The looting of Kaduna State cannot be remedied by revelations alone; but by courageously constituting a probe panel headed by an independent professional accountant or auditor who will invite and investigate ex-government officials and their proxy contractors to account for the millions in Dollars and billions in Naira that were misused or outrightly stolen, including the $350million loan.

“Kaduna State is at its hour of reckoning with the truth I foretold and the truth for which I was vilified.”
