NSCDC Makes Significant Arrests in Oil Theft Case

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended three individuals involved in the vandalism of oil pipelines, oil theft, and illegal petroleum product transactions. This took place in Umuowaga Umuelechi Obuzo Asa, located in the Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State.

According to a statement by ASC II Doreen Udugwu, the operation was made possible due to timely intelligence that led the Anti-Vandal Patrol team to act promptly. They uncovered significant amounts of stolen petroleum products during their investigation.

The suspects have been identified as Oscar Eteobong, 37, and Isaac Aniete Edemba Udoh, 40, both from Akwa Ibom State, along with Emmanuel Uzoma Sunday, 20, from Isiala-Ngwa North in Abia State.

In response to the event, Commandant Akinsola Aderemi stated that ongoing investigations aim to track down all parties involved in this scheme that threatens the economy.

Aderemi also emphasized the NSCDC’s commitment to eradicating criminal activities from Abia State and warned offenders to cease illegal operations or face severe consequences.

Furthermore, he encouraged the public to assist the NSCDC by providing valuable information that could aid in the capture of suspects.
