The Borno State Government has declared a mandatory 24-hour curfew across the entire state after a devastating explosion at Kawori Market in the Konduga area on Wednesday night.
A suspected Boko Haram suicide bomber orchestrated the attack, resulting in the tragic loss of 16 lives and leaving many others with severe injuries.
According to a press release from Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, the decision to impose the curfew was made following consultations with Governor Babagana Zulum and top security officials to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of the public.
The statement emphasized the need for security agencies to uphold peace in the state and highlighted the urgency of the situation, urging residents to cooperate with the curfew regulations for their own safety.
Residents are advised to remain calm and comply with the curfew instructions while updates on the situation unfold in the coming days.
The authorities assure the public that further information will be provided as events progress.
