Popular Afrobeats artist, David Adeleke, known as Davido, has responded to a critic suggesting he should distance himself from the Igbo community.
In a message shared on X, the singer clarified that he has Igbo heritage.
The critic, expressing concerns, suggested that Davido, being of Yoruba descent, could face betrayal from his Igbo friends.
The user, Yakbel, commented, “Davido seems too close to the Igbos, but he will learn the hard way when they betray him. A Yoruba guy should be careful associating with them in 2025; they want everything you own. It’s impossible to make them happy. Igbos aren’t the best company for a Yoruba man.”
In his rebuttal, Davido proudly proclaimed his own Igbo background.
He stated, “Lol. I am Igbo by blood.”
