Arrest Made in Delta DPO Murder Case
Ogaga Dickson, linked to a major robbery and kidnapping group, has been taken into custody by the Nigeria Police Force for the murder of CSP Hassan Jega, who served as the Divisional Police Officer in Agbarho, Delta State.
CSP Jega lost his life during a confrontation with criminals while attempting a rescue on October 14, 2024.
According to a statement released on Monday, January 6, 2025, by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Dickson was apprehended on November 1, 2024.
ACP Adejobi confirmed that prior to Dickson’s arrest, four members of the gang had been eliminated during a police operation at their hideout.
The statement indicated, “On November 1, 2024, operatives of the FID-IRT detained Ogaga Dickson, a 35-year-old male, who is part of a dangerous robbery syndicate linked to the death of CSP Hassan Jega, DPO of the Agbarho Division in Delta State.”
“CSP Jega was killed in a violent gunfight on October 14, 2024, while leading a police unit against the assailants following a foiled robbery,” the statement added.
“During a previous raid, police engaged in a fierce shootout with the gang, resulting in the deaths of four gang members.”
“Upon Ogaga’s arrest, authorities seized an AK-47 rifle, an English pistol, a locally made firearm, various ammunition, and six luxury vehicles.”
