Denial of Son’s Alleged Cult Involvement

My Son Was Not A Cultist

Mr Musibau Fabiyi, the father of late Hammed Ayinla Fabiyi, a final-year student at Tai Solarin University (TASUED), has refuted law enforcement claims that his son was involved in a cult.

On July 4, during ongoing exams, a group of suspected cult members disrupted an exam hall, forcibly removed Hammed, a 400-level history student at the Ogun state university.

Witnesses and footage attest that the victim was subsequently attacked.

The assailants, dressed in white shirts, fled before campus security intervened.

The Ogun state police alleged that Hammed was affiliated with the Eiye cult.

According to Omolola Odutola, the Ogun State Police Command PRO, the attackers, reportedly about six men, were associated with a rival group called the Aye.

Contrary to the police statement, the victim’s father has negated any involvement of his son in a cult.

He clarified during a conversation with TheCable in Ogun on July 5 that his son held a position within TASUED’s student body.

The grieving father mentioned that his son may have been targeted for reasons unrelated to cultism.

Mr. Fabiyi emphasized, “From my knowledge of my son, he is not part of any cult. I have never seen him with any weapon,” he asserted.

“I recall he discussed some issues at his school. Being a student union official, he disclosed to me about financial irregularities involving a union leader, which he intended to expose.

“I believe this might have led to the problem. My son is not in any cult. If he was, I would have been aware. I am his father.

He lamented, “It is distressing to see students engage in such acts. Had this been related to cultism, there would have been threats or retaliatory incidents.
